A few weeks ago, I was contacted by David Wakefield president of the Strath Creek Landcare Group in Victoria about a series of twelve ‘Mythbuster’ Stream Management sheets we developed during my time at Land and Water Australia. David was keen to get hold of the Mythbuster series as his group are working to get a change of attitude to riparian restoration. I was able to find the ‘Mythbusters’ and have placed them on the ARRC for people to access.
Busted Myths include:
- ‘It’s too expensive to fence the creek’;
- ‘Real farmers don’t do that’, and;
- ‘Straightening the creek will stop the beds eroding’.
